Cookie policy

What we store on your device when you visit this website, why, and how to change your mind.

On this page

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies do things like keep you signed in, remember a preference, or help measure how a website and its advertising are performing.

Some cookies are set by us. Others are set by the companies whose tools we use, such as the platform that runs our booking calendar. Those are called third-party cookies.

2. Your choice

Cookies that are needed to make this website work are always set. We cannot switch these off, and the law does not require your consent for them.

Everything else is optional and is only set if you accept. You can change your mind at any time.

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept optional cookies. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and choosing to reject does not limit anything on this site.

To change your answer later, use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. That brings the banner back so you can choose again. If you reject after previously accepting, we remove the optional cookies we set.

3. Strictly necessary cookies

These are set whenever you visit, because the site cannot work properly without them. They are set by the platforms that host our website, forms and booking calendar rather than by us directly.

Scroll the table sideways to see every column.

Where the table says the expiry is set by the platform, the period is controlled by our provider rather than by us. We are confirming the exact periods with them and will update this page when we have them.

4. Optional advertising cookies

These are only set if you accept optional cookies. They let us see which of our adverts bring people to this site and which do not, so that we do not keep paying for advertising that does not work.

CookieSet byPurposeExpires
_fbpMeta (Facebook)Identifies your browser so we can measure how our advertising performs and show our ads to people who have visited this site.Up to 90 days
_fbcMeta (Facebook)Records that you arrived from one of our adverts, so that a booking can be matched to the advert that brought you here. Only set if you arrive from an advert.Up to 90 days

Accepting also means information about your visit is shared with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, which may transfer it outside the UK. Meta uses this both for our reporting and for its own purposes, as set out in its own privacy information. If you reject, none of this happens.

5. Other storage we use

We store one item in your browser's local storage, which works like a cookie but is not sent to a server.

NameSet byPurposeExpires
vl-cookie-consentValoLeadsRemembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, so we do not ask again on every page.Until you clear it

This one is necessary, because without it we could not honour the choice you made.

6. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, separately from the choice you make on this site. Every major browser lets you do this, and its help pages explain how.

Blocking all cookies may stop parts of this site working, including the booking form. If you clear your cookies and local storage, we will ask for your choice again on your next visit.

The Information Commissioner's Office publishes general guidance on cookies at ico.org.uk.

7. Changes

If we add or remove cookies we will update this page and change the date at the top. It is worth checking when you visit.
